Optimized Architecture

The CAN-USB/400 was developed for CAN communication with minimum latency via USB. For this purpose, USB is connected internally via FIFOs and the data management is controlled by the esd Advanced CAN Controller (esdACC).

IRIG-B and Multiple I/Os

The analog and digital IRIG-B inputs provide synchronized timestamps, ideal for use with ARINC825.
External trigger I/Os enable extended error injection functions, and additional I/Os offer a wide range of possible applications.

CAN Interfaces

Two independent CAN ports in accordance with ISO 11898-1 offer extensive options for using the CAN bus. Each port has its own ISO 16845:2004 certified esdACC. Depending on the variant, the interface can send and receive ISO-compliant CAN FD and/or CAN 2.0 A/B messages.

If classic CAN (CAN CC) communication reaches its limits, the next step is not automatically Industrial Ethernet. Because with CAN FD, an increase in performance can be easily realized. Error Injection Unit - A simple but powerful concept

For many years, the CAN bus has been used not only in automotive and industrial automation, but increasingly also in safety-critical areas such as medical technology or aerospace. Due to the resulting increase in safety requirements, the need for verification, simulation and testing is also growing.
Due to their principle, the CAN controllers available on the market are not able to send faulty CAN frames or generally violate the CAN standard ISO 11898. The esdACC CAN IP core, supplemented by the Error Injection Unit, is not only able to generate or simulate almost all CAN errors, it can even interactively intervene in the running CAN communication.
The error injection unit has different injection modes, such as CAN arbitration, time triggered or pattern matching, which in combination allow even complex scenarios. With the esdACC Error Injection GUI Tool esd additionally offers a free graphical user interface for the Error Injection Unit.

Free CAN tools for fast setup and diagnosis of CAN networks

Our CAN tools for Windows, which are available free of charge in the CAN SDK, significantly support the user in quickly setting up and easily diagnosing CAN, CAN FD and CANopen networks. The possibility of data logging helps the user to record the data traffic for later analysis and to process it further as a CSV file.

NTCAN API and available software stacks

The NTCAN API is a cross-platform software communication interface for CAN hardware. The well-structured API allows easy integration into any application. The functionality and the versatility of the implementation provide all necessary mechanisms to control, configure and monitor CAN networks.

Many sophisticated functions make the API ideally suited for use in connection with higher CAN based protocols. For many common protocols corresponding implementations are already available from esd. These higher layer protocols for Classical CAN, which are available for numerous operating systems, include:
