CAN data management
The four independent CAN interfaces are designed according to ISO 11898-1 and are controlled via the esdACC (esd Advanced CAN Core) implemented in the Xilinx® Spartan® 3e FPGA. The FPGA supports bus mastering (firstparty DMA). This allows the PMC-CAN/400-4 to initiate write cycles to the host CPU RAM independently of the CPU or the system DMA controller. This reduces host CPU load and overall latency.
The PMC-CAN/400-4 supports high-resolution hardware timestamps for CAN messages.
IRIG-B
An optional IRIG-B interface provides inputs for analog or RS422 IRIG-B coded signals. Both inputs are galvanically isolated.
A microcontroller controls the IRIG-B evaluation.
Free drivers for Windows and Linux included
The product is offered with drivers for Windows and Linux, which can be downloaded free of charge.

Free CAN tools for fast setup and diagnosis of CAN networks
Our CAN tools for Windows, which are available free of charge in the CAN SDK, significantly support the user in quickly setting up and easily diagnosing CAN, CAN FD and CANopen networks. The possibility of data logging helps the user to record the data traffic for later analysis and to process it further as a CSV file.
