With support for Windows on Arm, our CAN-USB/2, CAN-USB/3-FD, and CAN-USB/400 interfaces are now fully available on Arm-based Windows systems. The devices provide the same functionality as on Windows x86, allowing existing applications and the esd CAN SDK for Windows tools to be used without any modifications.
This enables the implementation of CAN CC and CAN FD applications on modern, mobile, and energy-efficient platforms such as Surface systems and devices powered by Snapdragon™ SoCs. The complete NTCAN API is supported, including high-precision timestamps, CAN FD data rates up to 8 Mbit/s, and advanced diagnostic features such as error injection on the esdACC-based CAN-USB/400.
In addition, the Virtual CAN driver is available for Windows on Arm. It supports testing, analysis, and simulation without physical CAN hardware, enabling flexible workflows in development, service, and quality assurance. The driver integration corresponds to the familiar Windows x86 installations, ensuring a consistent software environment across all Windows architectures.
