The current version 1.5 of the EtherCAT Workbench provides an enhanced user experience, a range of new features and improved efficiency. Based on feedback from the field, our development team has made additional improvements to the product. The versatile EtherCAT configuration tool can be used to create network configuration files and to initialize and monitor simple as well as complex EtherCAT networks.
EtherCAT Workbench Improvements
- SCI file support: Devices can now be configured quickly and offline using SCI files – with import, export, and filtering included.
- Integrated GUI for CAN-EtherCAT/2-FD: First tool with direct support for EtherCAT-to-CAN FD gateways – simplifies setup and commissioning.
- Improved usability: Hotkeys, new menus, and a reset option for window layouts make operation more intuitive.
- Extended protocol support: ADS (AoE) and Vendor Specific Profile (VoE) over EtherCAT now supported – for more flexible device communication.
- Increased performance: Faster bus scans and optimized cache handling – even with large networks.
- Modernized platform: Updated to .NET Framework 4.8 and refreshed component base.
- CoE dictionary export: Generate complete CoE offline dictionaries from an online scan – fast, error-free, and efficient.
Conclusion: The EtherCAT Workbench is now even more powerful, thanks to version 1.5. With new features and improvements, the Workbench is an even better solution for those who want to implement their projects quickly, flexibly and easily.
