Intelligent solid state relays for the deep hammer
Use of the LOCC box increases operational reliability
Repairs on deck of a special vessel cause high costs. Increasing operational safety was therefore an important reason for Menck to modernize the control computer in the deep-sea hydraulic hammer.
In cooperation with the companies Lütze from Weinstadt and esd electronics from Hanover, the LOCC-Box current monitoring system was converted into an intelligent solid-state relay with condition monitoring.
MENCK GmbH, headquartered in Kaltenkirchen, has been manufacturing steam boilers, winches and pile drivers for the offshore industry for more than 140 years. Its continuously developed products are used in oil, gas and wind farm projects as well as in bridge and port construction.
