The Formula Student Team HAWKS Racing at the University of Applied Sciences (HAW) in Hamburg has designed a new electric racing car. Equipped with sufficient intelligence it is able to participate in races for autonomous vehicles.
We are happy to support the project with our CAN USB/2 module. It is used in the new vehicle as a communication interface between the autonomous system and the CAN bus.
In the HAWKS Racing team, students from various disciplines cooperate in the development and construction of an autonomous electric racing car. As part of the largest international design competition, the Formula Student, the vehicle competes against racing cars from university teams all over the world. In Germany alone, there are 70 registered electric teams and many more are on the waiting list of Formula Student Germany (FSG).
